This is ridiculous. Here are people dying for freedom, and all these morons care about is their race. Won't anyone stand up and say, "I support democracy, or some reasonable approximation thereof"?

What's the big deal? Why should they cancel the race? Is the race somehow supporting the bad guys or weakening the good guys?

I don't support democracy.
e: The race is run by the state, which is anti-democratic. To ensure that the race is run smoothly, the state will use any and all means to suppress the democratic dissidents. In fact, they'll use the race as an excuse to beat the freedom lovers to a pulp. And what are the Western Powers who preside over the F1 doing? Supporting the monsters. It's disgusting.
Menashe: Pity you can't be deported to Bahrain.
Chillax. You sound like the commies who see everything as the capitalists exploiting the workers. The sate can run its race in peace, and the protesters can protest in the squares (for example).

Well then get out there and protest the race!
Wow, and here I was thinking we were getting pissy over ethnic groups. (joke)
e: You don't get it, do you?
Yossi: Good man!
Anon: Takeh- you want to pay for a ticket for me?
Sara: Huh?
Race as in racism
Oh.
Yeah.
Democracy is dumb.
And every other political system is dumber.
Well, "democracy" can lead to, as in your previous post, "vayakumu letzachek" with all that entails.
Which is why we here in America don't have a democracy; we have a republic. That's the model we should be encouraging (without the crooked politicians, the shallowness, and other undesirable features of our system).
Anon: Takeh.
Anon,
Republics are even worse. If the people are crooked their representatives are even more so!
Of course this is a moot point as there are no democracies or republics in the world. There are corporate democracies. Legislation and foreign policy goes to to the highest bidder.
I don't even think there are corporate democracies. If that were the case, government would be run efficiently, like a corporation. I think it's a hefker-o-cracy. Nobody's in charge. Each bureaucrat runs/sells out his little corner of the government, but there's nobody who's really in charge. The government is just too huge for anybody to run.
