Yes we couldn't

Whoever thought that all that hope and change would end up in nothing?

So here's the question: Am I more reticent in support of this war in Libya because of my growing liberalism or because the GOP finds it convenient in its eternal damnation of all things Obama? And which is preferable?

Would liberalism make one against the war in Libya?

The Republican party! Those snobby, elitist old men knew it all along. And Michael Savage.

In general, liberalism is associated with pacifism, though of course historically this is often not true. Wilson was President when the US went into WWI (and yes, I know it's unfair to pin that on him), Roosevelt was desperate to get into WWII, Truman went into Korea, Kennedy got us into Vietnam (and LBJ really put the fat into the fire), and more recently Clinton was all gung-ho for the Yugoslav adventures.

But I think it would be fair to characterize the great anti-war movements in history as being generally liberal in nature.

Sara: huh?

The entire election folks would say Obama has beautiful words that mean nothing and promises that would end up in nothing.

course that's most presidents. But whatever.

Sara: right, yes, but when he does things that traditionally republicans have liked, and they criticize him for it? Of course, real conservatives hate all sorts of foreign intervention and what not, but that's neither here nor there.

I dunno dude, maybe you ought to call Michael Savage about it.

No, that's ok.

Where did you get your knowledge of american history? Rare for an american and outstanding for a lubavitcher.

Is that a compliment?

The Rebbe was fighting wars even without Constitutional power! He continues to fight all those invisable wars which make him bichezkat Moshiach!

Yes, President Wilson brought the USA into WWI. However, only after a along and prolonged time did Wilson decide to enter. In fact during his entire first term he used every opportunity to keep the US out of WWI. And when he ran for office for a second term, his phrase was "I kept you out of the war.' Argueably (most historians agree) that the reason Germany waged a second war in Europe after WWI was because of the peace treaty that was more of a sacrifice your son and daughter pact. (my opinion) Had President Wilson decided war was no that bad and waved a long stick at Germany and told them if you attack france in I will unleash the USA armies. Probably WWII would never have happened. If we just use phrases to promote our viewpoint and forget of the history behind we are no better than the puppets on the right and on the left that put everything in a cookie cutter. "War is bad"

Yes, I know, I know. I was just misconstruing facts to make a point.
